Error C0202 on Konica Minolta bizhub and Develop ineo – what it means and what to do

Code C0202 means the paper lift mechanism in tray 1 did not work correctly – the paper plate did not reach its upper position within the required time. Codes C0204, C0206 and C0208 mean the same for trays 2, 3 and 4.

What to do first

1. Write the code down or take a photo of the screen – it may disappear after a restart.
2. Turn the device off with the main power switch, wait at least 10 seconds and turn it on again.
3. If the code returns, do not restart repeatedly – give us the code and the device model.

Most common causes

• a tray overfilled with paper or not pushed in fully
• wrongly set guides or paper that has jammed the lifting plate
• a scrap of paper or a foreign object under the plate in the tray
• a worn lift motor or a faulty upper-limit sensor

What you can do yourself

Pull out the tray, take out all the paper and check that nothing lies under the plate. Load the paper again without exceeding the maximum height mark, slide the guides up to it and push the tray in fully. Restart. Until the repair you can print from another tray or from the bypass tray.

When to call service

If the code returns even with correctly loaded paper, a technician visit is needed – usually the lift motor or the sensor is at fault.
